I purchased four lengths of scaffolding boards,all five feet long . They are all bowed and with other unacceptable faults (please see photos) I wanted to use them for shelving,my original plan was to stain them light oak then finish them off with Osmo oil unfortunately the wood is of such poor quality which will not allow that - I appreciate that they are "scaffolding boards" and I wasn't expecting furniture grade wood,there are lots of gouges etc that will need to be filled so they will now have to be painted. Due to the bowing they will not sit level on my brackets...... I appreciate you can return them at your own expense, unfortunately it was going to cost in the region of £160.00+ to return said goods - far more than the boards cost so rendering their returns policy somewhat farcical. To be frank I've seen better scaffolding boards on a building site ! To reiterate,I wasn't expecting furniture grade wood,but I wasn't expecting the boards to be not fit for purpose unless you like shelves to look like a five year old has put them up - there is nothing you can do about the bowing ,some people might say it gives them a quirky rustic charm,but there are always going to be people who are living on another planet.
